Jeff Kriet's selection by the fans may have come as a surprise to some, but certainly not to close followers of the sport who have watched "Squirrel" gain fans by the truckload over the past few years. His runner-up finish at the 2010 Bassmaster Classic was Kriet's coming out party for the fans. He got to show off his personality and sense of humor, and the bass fishing world admired his tenacity as he went toe to toe with Kevin VanDam and Todd Faircloth for the most coveted trophy in the sport.

Jeff Kriet is an All-Star for Toyota All-Star Week
07. 14. 2011 Las Vegas, NV - Jeff Kriet of Ardmore, Oklahoma was chosen by fans to join the field for the Toyota All-Star Week July 23-31, in Alabama. Jeff was one of four added to the all star field by fan vote. The other three included Michael Iconelli of Pitts Grove, New Jersey, Aaron Martens of Leeds, Alabama, and Skeet Reese of Auburn, California to complete the field of 12. The announcement was made today at the ICAST Trade Show in Las Vegas.
Initial qualifiers include the top eight from Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings: Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., Edwin Evers of Talala, Oklahoma, Gerald Swindle of Warrior, Alabama, Ott DeFoe of Knoxville, Tennessee, Steve Kennedy of Auburn, Alabama, Terry Scroggins of San Mateo, Florida., Casey Ashley of Donalds, South Carolina and Davy Hite of Ninety Six, South Caronlina.

Congratuations to Jeff Kriet of Ardmore, OK for winning the "Ultimate Match Fishing Presented by Sta-Bil". Jeff Kriet is the 2011 UMF All Stars Champion and with this victory in head-to-head competition he won the championship belt and the winner's check for $50,000.
The UMF All Stars featured twelve top competitors in head-to-head match play competiion. Click here for the Ultimate Match Fishing website. In the first match Jeff had to beat his best buddy Mike McClelland. Both Mike and Jeff are first-time UMF contenders and Mike is Jeff's travel partner on the Bassmaster Elite Series tour.
In the second match Jeff, also known as "The Squirrel", had to beat Greg "The Hack Attack" Hackney. In the semi-finals Jeff was matched against Gary Klein and came out on top. Then, in the Championship Match Jeff had to outlast one tough competitor in Boyd Duckett. Congratulations again to Jeff Kriet!
